Like other posters have mentioned, the 7.62x39 will drop a coyote with no issues. I’m not sure how well the SKS is suited to coyote hunting though. I wouldn’t use it if you will be hunting over a large field or on a power line. The SKS is an accurate milled receiver (for the most part) rifle. Russian Tula are my favorite flavor but the type 84 SKS-D Chicom made version is designed to accept standard AK mags.
